The idea for this work developed during the design process. Originally this should have been a more serious vector piece but then I thought...."what the heck" and let my silly side take over....

Many times I almost gave up because creating all the details on the buildings was very tedious and time-consuming. I just didn't see this come together. I'm glad I stuck it out, and after many weeks I finally finished this.

Thanks everybody for your feedback, comments and favorites, and thanks to DeviantArt for the "Daily Deviation Feature" and the "Print of the Day" award! I'm on my knees.....

Daily Deviation

So, what do we have here? History it would seem. Let’s take a look. Slick vector, architectural detail, skateboarding and…oh yeah, a huge set of choppers right in the middle of it all! What more could someone ask for in this print by Anja Allison.

Wow. such a complex piece. The detail you put into this is great. It must have taken some definite time too.
I'm not altogether certain how the word history plays into all of it, though I do know those are some really
big teeth taking a bit out of traffic. ;) I see all manner of modes of transportation, and awesome buildings.
But yeah, this looks amazing. Great job on it! :D

Yes, it took quite a while and I took some breaks because I got tired of creating the many details on the builders. I named this work history because something like this would definitely make history, wouldn't it? It's like a giant left his dentures and skaters discovered this as a cool ramp. Then again, there were not skateboards in the 30's and 40's.....Make of it what you want....:)

That's pretty rad, i like the sk8er rippin it up. I don't like the font of "history", it should have a capital H too.

what an amazing idea! great job with the perspective on the little people, and I love the isolation of color on the teeth and the skater. it really makes it pop out at you the ridiculousness of the situation.

I purposely used a that's easy to read but doesn't take focus away from the picture above. I also puposely used all lower case to give it more interest.... ;)

The dreary greyscale of all the other people makes the little skater and his giant teeth stand out. This looks really nifty. Good job!

Those teeth look like they'd be fun to skate ;).
